Review: Brahma Kamal Restaurant, The only destination for Exotic Sizzlers and Fresh-dough Pizza with a splendid view of the Lake in Udaipur!

If you crave for Sizzlers and Fresh-dough Pizza, then head towards this restaurant without a second thought! Situated right in front of the Swaroop Sagar offering a wonderful view of the lake and the best part is that you need not to drive through the narrow and congested lanes like many other city area restaurants for a tranquil lake view. The fine dining restaurant is situated on the third floor of the hotel owned by a young and passionate hotelier Mr Abhimanyu Nalwaya , and it offers ample space for parking and a wide approach from the main road towards Fatehsagar.

The Exotic Mexican Sizzler

The menu is set by the Masala Cartel, a jv by famous Chef Devansh and Chef Shaunak which offers a variety of mocktails, appetisers, main course dishes and especially a range of Sizzlers to choose. They serve vegetarian food though you can order some varieties of egg dishes from the menu like Shakshuka, Bhurji or a simple Indian Egg curry.
We started with three different mocktails. First, Golden Heaven Surprise, a refreshing blend of coffee and sweet carbonated drinks. The base note of this drink is coffee, and then in the middle, you will get a sweet taste and the after taste is something unique mix of a sweetened caffiene. The second one was Unicorn's Tear. A purple blend of different kind of berries with some carbonated liquid and a hint of lemon, a perfect summer drink.  The third one was a Girl's Favourite, Pink Fairy, a concoction of strawberry, ice cream and a bit of carbonated liquid. More like a frappe.

Then came assorted varieties of Dumpling. They serve the Char-grilled dumpling, the latest food trend in Northern India. They used some unique marination process and ingredients to make the platter interesting. The first one was Mango Bhut Jolokia Dumpling where the famous Bhut Jolokia is mixed with the sweetness of mango to give a unique flavour note. The second one was Sriracha Dumpling made with Mafia Chef Sriracha, a product of Chef Devansh which has different notes of chilis but not something to burn your mouth. Instead, it left you with an aftertaste of a flavourful chilli sauce. And the third one was Afghani Dumpling. Something unique to taste, where green chili, pepper and cheese is mixed with the traditional malai paneer tikka marination. The first bite left you with a taste of chilli but in the middle, you will get the creamy taste of Malai and Cheese, and then again you'll get another spicy note of pepper and the mixed veggie fillings. They also serve a variety of dips to taste along with the dumplings.
Most importantly, all these spicy sauces and dips are made in-house by the Head Chefs.

Next was their signature fresh-dough, thin crust rectangular pizza. The most authentic taste you can have in the city. The dough is made fresh to order, and hand pressed to their signature square pan. They use a standard four varieties of cheese in all of their pizzas with some Parmesan sprinkled on top to give you a wonderful flavour. They also serve the medium crust ones in order. You will get all the American versions of pizza like Authentic New York style, LA, San Diego et.al. with a variety of toppings to add on. We tried Cinque Formaggi, their signature five cheese pizza and Verdura Amore, a melodiey of cheese topped with an assortment of veggies.

Then came the star of the meal, The Sizzlers with their signature sizzling sound! We tasted Mexican and Italian Sizzlers as recommended by the Chefs.
The Mexican sizzler was a combination of Mexican red rice, with spicy potato wedges, assorted veggies, refried beans, and a Mexican Black Bean Cutlet topped with cheese sauce, spicy roasted tomato salsa and sour cream.
The Italian Sizzler was an assortment of three types of Pasta and assorted veggies. Penne in a spicy red sauce, Ravioli in white sauce and Spaghetti in a cheesy alfredo sauce. All of those were topped with an Italian-style cutlet made with a blend of cheeses and coated with rice and bread crumbs and some cheese sauce with mixed herbs sprinkled over it.
The soft freshly made cutlets were melted in the mouth and full of flavours. The Mexican rice, the Pasta was delicious to taste and bearing the signature of a skilled chef and fresh ingredients. The sizzlers were so good in taste that as soon as they were served, there was an absolute silence on the table other than some slurping sounds! :)

The food as explained above is delicious in taste, and the sauces are suitable for any experienced platter whereas it can be an incredible experience to try for any food lover.

They make everything from scratch after you place an order, so prepared to wait for around fifteen to twenty minutes till your order is served and meanwhile you can enjoy the beautiful setting and a pleasant view of the lake with a sip from your mocktail glass that you can order from their beverage menu.
