Review: The Bungalow Udaipur, a place to dine for its old world charm and delicious food!

The old-world charm with good food is how I can explain the all new boutique restaurant in the city, The Bungalow Udaipur!
An elegantly designed restaurant situated inside a bungalow with comfortable dining rooms and al-fresco seating opened its door last week, and we were there today for brunch.
The menu offers ample options to choose from both vegetarian and non-vegetarian section, and the drink menu is also good with a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to choose. Meal for two would cost you around 1500 without drinks.
We met the owners, Mr Aryaveer and Mr Shaliendra who are partners and managing this beautiful restaurant situated in the lane opposite to the Big Bazar at New Fatehpura area. The gentlemen were humble and made us feel extremely comfortable with their excellent hospitality.

Upon their recommendation, we ordered a house speciality starter, Murg Jalebi Kebab and Keema ke Kebab.
The Murg Jalebi Kebab is indeed a unique starter where minced spicy chicken is spiralized and then fried. We loved the taste as well as the unique method of preparation.
The next was Keema ke Kebab. The flavourful minced meat was cooked perfectly, and the blend of the spices left a pleasant aftertaste in our mouth.

For the mains, we thought to give a try to their Continental offerings, and we choose two dishes from the Food-mecca of Europe, Fish Meunière and Chicken Marengo.
I must say that they have a versatile talent pool in their kitchen as both the dishes were absolutely perfect.
The classic French preparation, Fish Meunière is a simple dish with fish fillet cooked in some butter with a fine coating of flour and milk with some herbs and lemon. The fillet was served with some steamed veggies and chips. We liked the simplicity of the dish yet so flavourful. The fillet was fresh and flaky, and the mild sauce was just perfect.

Next was another beauty from France, Chicken Marengo. Tender Chicken breasts were sautéed well with some garlic, butter, and herbs. And then mixed with a chicken broth sauce and some veggies like grilled tomato, sautéed mushroom and bell peppers. The dish was served with a fried egg on top like the traditional recipe but to make it appealing to locals; they added some chips also as sides.

The taste was simply delicious and mild suiting to the authenticity of the recipe.
Though we missed the French Boule and Dinner rolls as sides, which are served in European restaurants. Hope they will add it soon.
Overall an enjoyable experience with delicious food, European simplicity in restaurant design and setting topped with a signature Rajasthani hospitality!

My Beautiful Wife, Oindrilla loved their al fresco seating area

And yes, they serve some chilled lager too! :)

My sincere wishes with the owners and hope this beautiful restaurant will soon find a place in most of the good food lovers in the city!
A must-try if you're looking for a casual yet cosy place to enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends.
